Prairie Style Arts & Crafts items are
constructed with zinc, colonial cames for structural strength offered
by the shape as well as its inherent visual effect.
The Roycroft inspired designs use lead cames in the traditional methods of construction and grouted with a black cement for weather proofing and patination. The Lighting Shades use a combination of copper foil construction with copper cames depending on the design. The Tree Sculptures have a combination of redwood and manzanita base with a hand wrought copper support made to resemble tree branches supporting the art glass design. |
